The difficulties and stress we have been experiencing this past year have taken a toll on us all. This year is one for the record books! Many of us were already struggling with feelings of dissatisfaction and ineffectiveness, decreased attention, as well as emotional overwhelm and worries, even BEFORE the onset of COVID.
AND even with the heightening of these experiences, WE CAN STILL LEARN POWERFUL COPING TOOLS.
A regular practice of mindfulness skills:
WHERE:
ZOOM - a registration link will be sent to you prior to the group's first session. Once you complete registration on zoom, you will receive the group's access information and an access link will be sent to you each week.
WHEN:
Sundays 11:30 AM to 1 PM (October 25th, November 1st, 8th, 15th, and 22nd)
WHAT:
This group will include both didactic and hands-on practices and will cover core mindfulness concepts including “Wise Mind”, the “What” and “How” skills of mindfulness, as well as the skills of “Reality Acceptance.”
This group is facilitated by Archana Arora, LCSW. Mindfulness practice has been a foundational part of Archana's life that goes back to her childhood growing up in India. As a Social Worker, Archana has been teaching mindfulness skills and wellness with individual clients as well as providing workshops for corporations and larger institutions.
WHY:
Cultivating a regular mindfulness practice in one’s life can be transformative. Research shows that mindfulness skills practice can help one decrease depression, anxiety, and irritability, lessen distraction and increase one’s ability to control his or her attention, increase our ability to regulate our emotions, and enhance our immune system.
COST:
This group series costs $250 and includes 5 – 90 minute sessions.
